I am pleased to say that Dayspring, CD30, topped 8.4 knots today on a broad reach, with just main and yankee, in 18 knots of wind. Probably not a big deal, but it made Christmas Eve in the antipodes a special day...she had all her gear aboard and all the food and stores for a weeks sailing. Love her to bits.

Re: CD30 Flies !!!
Murray,
That's a decent turn of speed! Feels neat doesn't it? When she is in the groove and sailing balanced and happy, the 30 is a magical ride. We spent 5 hrs. last summer, under crusing chute on broad reach. 15-25 kts. and 3-5 fters. I didn't want to stop! We also hit in the low 8's, and came into the anchorage under spinnaker and rail down.
Merry Christmas all,
Larry
