I will be accepting a 2 year contract in New York City. Are there reasonably priced marinas in the vicinity of Brooklyn that can accommodate my CD 27?

Re: New York NY Marinas
You might be better off joining a yacht club. I would highly recommend Richmond County Yacht Club on Staten Island, about 20 minutes from the Verazanno bridge. I was a member there for several years, good people and several Cape Dory owners. You should be able to get a mooring which I preferred over a slip. Slips are hard to come by. There initiation fee and dues are reasonable, they are active and have a nice clubhouse. Drop the mooring and 15 minutes later you are in open water. There is also a yacht club in Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn we used to sail over to for lunch. I have no idea about there availabilities or costs. All marinas in N.Y. are expensive. Great Kill Yacht Club, in Great Kill Harbor is good but usually has a long waiting list, they are just up the street from Richmond County Yacht Club.Wolf von Kalben wrote: I will be accepting a 2 year contract in New York City. Take a short drive up to City Island, NY. It is in the Bronx but has several marinas and yacht clubs. It is at the "gateway" to Long Island Sound and has a long history of building America's Cup boats, etc. A lot of nice restaurants, as well.

There is a marina on the Jersey side of New York Harbor directly behind the Statue of Liberty. Sorry, I don't remember the name. Maybe "Liberty Park Marina."

Wolf,
There are several marinas on the Hudson located on the New Jersey side of the river: Liberty Landing, Port Imperial, Lincoln Harbor Yacht Club and Newport Marina (201)626-5550. On the New York side there's Surf Side 3 at Chelsea Piers as well as the Manhattan Yacht Club at North Cove. But I must warn you, they are all expensive.
In Brooklyn there's Miramar Yacht Club, Sheepshead Bay Yacht Club. There's also Gateway Marina (718)252-8761, located on Barren Island right across from Floyd Bennett Field.
If you don't mind travelling over to Staten Island, there are several marinas and yacht clubs located at Great Kills Harbor.
