depth gauge for CD 25

Re: depth gauge for CD 25
There's a depth gauge there now? What's the problem with it?
I set out to replace the depth gauge on LIQUIDITY only to find out the transponder was just fine... it was the gauge itself that needed replacing. It saved putting a new hole in the bottom.

Re: depth gauge for CD 25
On my Halman 21 I expoxied a short length of shaped pvc pipe upright on the hull, forward and slightly to starboard of the where I believed the keel metal to be. Then I put the ST40 transponder into the pipe, and filled the pipe about halfway up with mineral oil. Don't fill the pipe so full of mineral oil that it will spill out when the boat heels. (I placed duct tape over the top of the pipe to minimize spill possibilities.) The idea is not to have air between the transponder and the water under the boat. There is no hole in the hull to cause worry about a leak. The sounder worked fine. I just sold the Halman and am eyeing a CD25.andy wrote: We are looking to replace/put in a new depth gauge on our CD 25.
