I too have a CD28FBC with the 200 HP Volvo Diesel and am really pleased with all of its properties (although I admit it is sometimes a little smoky at start-up if I idle too long while docking in the previous outing). I easily cruse at 14.5 @3400rpm and expect 17+ at 3850. 1100 hours and no problems....Why Change?

I installed a new 4LH-STE 230 HP Yanmar unit two years ago. Now has 600 hours on it, with a trip from Maine to Florida and back on it. This was absolutely the best decision I ever made. The engine has performed without a hitch from day one. According to my yard the new model is even a better performer, which would be hard for me to believe. If you have the money to repower I don't think you can go wrong with this engine. Good luck
