A rare sight

I figured I should document an event I probably won't witness too often: Ofwego, my newly acquired CD31, on my mooring in a snow storm! That's not a grainy photo, that's snow flakes in a 40 kt NW Maine breeze! Haul out is scheduled for Wednesday. Forecast is mostly sunny, temp mid-50's. :)

David, that is a beautiful photo. It really shows New England/Maine weather - at its worst. :wink: Miami is not much better. Dipped to 47 last night. This does not bode well for a mild winter in Miami.

Is the name of your new CD "Ofwego" or "Oswego" :?:

Robert, the name is Ofwego. A disturbing corruption of the Admiral's oft heard, "well, Off We Go !!"
Weather is nuts here! You can barely make her out in this photo, behind the falling snow.

David, those are great photos. Congratulations on the new acquisition. We lucked out down here, no snow, just gale force winds at times. Maine caught the brunt of this northeaster.

I had already winterized the fresh water system. But I don't think we had freezing temps long enough to really be a problem. Finished all my winterizing today, sails unbent, boom off, ready to be hauled tomorrow. Will winterize the engine raw water cooling when she is on the hard. Hope everyone is nicely tucked in for a long winter's nap. Seemed like a short sailing season this year, even though I got quite a few October sails in.
