CD36 in Panama

Post by Russell »

Considering the sale of my CD36, currently in Panama. Found another boat I am interested in and cant afford two boats. Full listing details to come later, right now just gauging interest if anyone might even considering purchasing her in Panama.

Nothing blasphemous, time moves on and one finds better boats for their needs. Time for a bigger boat.

Russel, you must have found a smokin deal on something nice.

So what boat is this that would pull you away from your CD-36 after setting her up so well? Maybe part of the problem is that you are running out of projects. Another question would be: which side of Panama are you on? I suppose it wouldn't be that much more involved to take her through the canal considering the overall logistics of buying a boat in a foreign country. Someone is going to get a fine boat, Steve.

Lady Pauline is on the Caribbean side of the Panama canal.

As for what I might be buying, its a Tayana 42, not nearly as pretty of course, but a nice boat in its own right.

Russell
Lots more room that's for sure on the tayana
I have a friend that briefly owned a 37 and there was teak everywhere!
Cutter rigged like Lady Pauline which I think also might have caught your fancy being a blue water sailor

The 42 is a very different beast then the 37, different designer. Fin keel with skeg, but still very heavy at nearly 30K lbs. It is a "cutter", but no bowsprit, its more comparable to a Valiant 40 then it is to a Tayana 37. As for room, it easily has double the volume of the CD36.

Both a center and an aft cockpit version were made. Which has caught your eye?

This is a sad, sad day.     Very much like the day our friend Carter Brey sold his CD 25 and acquired a Sabre 28. Sad, sad day.

I do not understand what is sad about it? I am getting a new boat that better suits my needs and someone else will be getting what is most likely the best equipped CD36 for ocean cruising that exists. I know I am certainly not sad to be getting a boat with quadruple the storage space, its a happy day for me.
