WTB-Sail for a CapeDory 14.

Post by Walter Hobbs »

Recently acquired a Cape Dory 14. Needs some TLC that it will get this winter but also needs a sail. I'm hoping that someone has one in an attic, barn or boathouse that they would be willing to part with for a reasonable price.

Please save me from having to build a Tyvek sail.

Thanks, and Fair Winds

I guess it's worth a try but you are looking for a sail for a boat built 41 to 50 years ago. I wouldn't advise Tyvek but you may want to look for a used sail through Bacon or one of the other used sail brokers. You could also make a winter project out of building one from scratch. Sailrite sells kits to make it relatively simple for beginners.

Thanks for the reply Jim, I may end up going the Sail rite route. If nothing else turns up.
