Cape Dory Rally - City Island YC, NY

I'm posting to gauge interest in a weekend Cape Dory rally at City Island NY this summer. The fun would include a Cape Dory race, dinner with CD owner/attendees with all the CD discussions we love, and a weekend at picturesque City Island on the western end of Long Island Sound. Moorings will be available at reasonable rates. Please respond on this board if you would be interested. Thanks.

I'd be interested, depending on the timing. I'm in Jamaica Bay and might use it as an excuse to sail around the island.

I too am interested. Since my boat is permanently moored at City Island this will not be a long trip for me. (Note that our club, The Harlem Yacht Club, on the west side of the island, usually has guest moorings available.)

OK, it looks like there is some interest in a get-together on City Island NY this Summer! I'll fix a date with the powers that be at City Island Yacht Club and post it here and other appropriate places. In the meantime, I will ask you all to talk it up among all the CD owners you know, as I will. Back soon. I'm excited!

I would sail over from Port Washington. I love all the CD's in City Island's fleet.

Apologies for not pulling off the hoped-for Cape Dory rally at City Island Yacht Club this year. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get a weekend for it (admittedly, my own schedule was a bog part of the problem).

Planning for a rally next summer at City Island begins NOW. That way we will surely have a time to do it. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Watch this board for details.

The sailing is great all the way to November. You can still hold a rally some time in September or October.
