Can anyone recommend an honest, competent fiberglass sailboat surveyor in mid-coast Maine who also can evaluate small diesels? Many thanks....

Sorry: cannot recommend a good surveyor, unless you are willing to fly one from Whidbey Island, Wa. (I flew him down with me to survey my boat in Long Beach Ca.-best money I ever spent!), but you will need to look for a good mechanic that surveys engines, as a surveyor will not, and can not do the stuff a mechanic does. You need compression checks, corrosion checks, leakage, and a whole bunch of other goodies that are usually associated with an engine and transmission.

A good surveyor does not get into this-he does boats!!
