Cape Dory Typhoon Daysailer
I bought a 1979 CD Typhoon Daysailer last year, cuddy version. It has a very soft cockpit sole which is in need of repair. Has anyone seen this before? I'm trying to decide how to make the repair. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know where I could find a boom tent for the boat (new or used)?

I have an '85 DS. For the most part the sole is pretty solid. There is one area where it slopes up in the back where there is a little bounce (both sides). It is unclear to me if there is core there or if that is the foam flotation that I am feeling.
I had a new boom tent/cockpit cover made three years ago by William J Mills in Greenport NY. It made a big difference compared to my old tent. I used to have water over the sole after every rain, Now I pump maybe once a season. They used my old one for a pattern and checked the boat for a final fit. I have since given the old tent away. It may be worth a call to Bob Mills to see if they made a pattern.

Hi--I have an under boom cockpit blue sunbrella cover which I used one season on a Bristol 19. It has dot lift snaps ( female) on the perimeter. Measures approx. 9ft 2in by 5ft 2in. Call me if you would like to try it for fit. For $100 it may be worth improvising. Ph 973 471 7249 It lashes to boom through loops on the ridge. Roger
