Fran:

The only (or perhaps one of many) problem with this sailboat is that it is not, as advertised, a Cape Dory sailboat.

It looks like it could be a Cape Dory Intrepid 28 or Intrepid 9M.

I may have spoken too soon.

The Intrepid 28 has a fin keel.

Another mystery to be investigated :!:

It's an Intrepid 9 meter. The 9M was a redesign of the Intrepid 28.

Didn't all the intrepids have cored hulls? I know the big ones did. That would be a serious concern given the hull damage.

Wonder if it can be sold with an obscured HIN?

Probably have to put the hin back on the transom and then make an appointment with the CG.

One has to wonder WHY the HIN is glassed over, was there previous hull damage that had to be repaired?

I mean, its $50, so not like its a bad deal or anything, and one would hope someone buying a boat like this is well prepared for all sorts of unexpected things.
