Hey John- Thank you for the suggestion on the empty rivet holes. That never arose in the survey or from any discussion with the rigger.
Is the risk from water entry? I'm all for cleaning up irregular shaped holes and preventing stress cracks, but I found only one discussion on Sailing Anarchy. I'll chat with the PYS shop next week.
The photo with the chainplate and boom mount holes filled in is from my boat, and I have no intention of going back to a cutter. I'm young and stupid, and still change headsails when the wind builds. '
I do plan on filling the five screw holes with epoxy and gelcoat one day, just need to color match the nonskid.
