One Liners
Hi all,
I thought it would be helpful and interesting to start this idea and offer two starters.
The idea being for those of you so inclined to add a tip, any tip the can be expressed in one line.
Crazy glue is right next to my duct tape as a boat gotta have aboard.
Make your dingy painter with polypropylene. It floats and will not foul your prop(s).

You should always have an odd number of holes in your boat!

Re: One Liners
I have two:
Always untie all the lines when leaving the dock.
Putting your jib on upside down does not make it a spinnaker.

Go to your local medical supply and get some of the material used to make cast for broken bones.
It is a water activated fiberglass material great for emergency repairs.

I can't take credit for this one:
“Any damn fool can navigate the world sober. It takes a really good sailor to do it drunk.”
Sir Francis Chichester, while loading his boat with gin.

Not as applicable to sailboats, but we use it in aviation all the time:
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.

The easiest way to remove a rat from the lee scuppers is to come about.

I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means no.

My other favorite aviation lesson.
You will always have enough range to get to the crash site.

If you and your buddies are drinking beer from cans without your shirts on, you're a powerboat, notwithstanding the common misconception you might get from reading the nav rules about sails and the like.Steve Laume wrote: He also had beer or ale on tap at the Nav station.

Re: One Liners
If you are drinking IPA from a can without any pants on you are a sailor.
