Hello,
Nice. I would love to know what that glossy yellowish colored paint is that you finished the inside of hull with--and if you still recommend it. I love the color and it looks like it would be easy(er) to keep clean. I am retiring shortly and will have time to start on our new/old 1975 CD 25 this winter, and I would love to use that paint--after I clean, sand, and prep the entire inside of the reachable hull.
Please respond when you are able.
Thanks, and best wishes.

Hello Bob

Well Its just plain old Rustoleum. I went to lowes went through their color samples (I dont recall if I had something from the boat to match it with or not) and picked something close. The base paint is 243996 semi-gloss white rust-oleum "professional" high performance protective enamel Oil Based.

Be careful the fumes are bad!

Hope this helps and good luck in retirement.

Thanks for the note on the paint.
I had assumed you likely used a plastic based paint and never thought about using an oil based enamel. Would you use the same again? I have seen a beautifully done 25D in the files here that uses the same color which I thought was a very good choice--and I assumed it was factory paint. Did you use an orbital sander to help clean off the old crud? And what kind of solvent or cleaner do you recommend using prior to coating to help make sure it sticks? As we alll know, much of the area in an old 25 is yucky, and is very hard to reach, even after I remove all the hoses. Since I must re-hose, add all new bilge pumps, and re-wire everything, it should be simpler to do the painting.
If anyone else here has suggestions, please feel free to add them for my consideration. My work must be with a roller and brush WITH good ventilation.
