I'm going to need a new dodger made over the winter for my CD27. Does anyone have a good canvas shop on Long Island NY that has done good work? I'll give them the old dodger as a template which should make it easier.
Thanks

Re: Good Canvas Shop - Long Island, NY
It's been a few years, but I had a dodger and awning attachment made for TIA MARI, our CD27, by Island Nautical. I think they were located on City Island. I hooked up with them at the Annapolis Boat Show. The price was acceptable (boat show special: awning at no additional cost).
I sent them my old dodger and they sent the new one back in time for spring launch. I was satisfied with their work. The dodger was still in good condition when we sold (sobbing) the 27.
You might give them a call. I could probably find some old paper work with their phone number if you wish.
Best wishes,

We purchased a new dodger from Island Nautical this past February at Sail Expo in Atlantic City. They did a great job and it was reasonably priced. They sent us the tools, and we installed the snaps and turn buttons ourselves.

Thanks all for your recommendations for canvas shops. I've got a long winter to get the dodger made.

Re: Good Canvas Shop - Long Island, NY
Warren: Island Nautical makes a GREAT dodger, beautiful too! I ordered mine by mail, gave them the right measurements to their specs and I got by mail the most handsome dodger I could have wanted. They also have the templates for all the Cape Dory models. you MUST follow directions precisely for the installation, and you will have the best dodger in your marina.
