One of my summer projects is to build a cabinet above the sink on my CD36, to ad much needed storage space to the galley area. This is a common factory option on similar boats (Pacific Seacraft, Tayana, etc), it does close up some of the openness of the interior, but I am more then willing to make that sacrifice. Before I dive in, I am wondering if anyone else has added a cabinet here and are willing to take photos. I pretty much already know the dimensions and such of how I am going to do it, getting doors to match at least reasonably well is going to be the toughest part.
At the same time I am enclosing the v berth shelves as proper cabinets and one on side of the boat I am enclosing the bookshelf area into an enclosed cabinet.

Re: CD36 cabinet above the sink
I have done what you are thinking of...the above sink cabinet and the enclosure of our port side shelving. I will try to remember to take some photos as you will find them interesting no doubt. I made matching doors for both projects. Regards, Stephen s/v Namaste 36 ' cape dory cutter
