Hello.
Just a side note for those iced in. Had a wonderful sail yesterday with my son. Wind 20 kts! Skies started off suny and blue 60 degrees, but the front came through, and temp dropped some, and skies became over cast. Great ride. This is the frist good wind I've had since purchasing my 25D in September.
Anyway, Batteries!! I want to add two 6 volt golf cart batteries to use for the house. In order to do so I may need to move the starting battery. Yesterday I looked a placing the starting battery in the starboard locker (adding a glassed in shelf) and using a very small battery. Hence the question. Will the small "garden tractor" type batteries start my 1gm10 consistently (assume proper charging)? If it will then I believe I can place all three batteries on the intended shelf in the port locker (keeping an eye on trim). Comments please. Do you know of a better location for the starting battery? Will the small battery do the job?
Thanks
Bill

Re: Battery ???'s
Bill, I use a Prevailer DF45 BCI Group U1 for the starting battery with a Volvo MD7B in our CD30. It is a Gel Cell and measures about 7 3/4 H x 5 W x 7 L and I never have any problems. Note however I never need to rely on it for cold weather starting. Boat is in Florida. We use a bank of Prevailer Group 27's for the house.Bill wrote: Hello.
