I have rercently purchased a cape dory 10 sailboat in very nice condition. The hull number is 10---1862. Can anyone tell me what year this boat was manufactured? And what year cape dory stopped making this boat? Thanks in advance for your help. Jim W.

I have hull #413 and the sellers guessed it was 1972 - they were kids when their grandfather bought it, and they can't locate the paper work. Based upon posts and info. from other CD10 owners my guess is that 413 is a 60's model, and that #1862 was produced in the 80's. I would like to see the production years of CD10s (all other models too) by serial number posted on this website - can't believe someone hasn't done it yet.

FYI: Sparten (maker of the bronze ports and hardware), now makes and sells that same sailing dinghy. If you ever need parts in the future, they are located on the coast of Maine next to Robinhood.
