Free to a good home - Cape Dory 28, mid project.
Cape Dory 28 sloop, mid project. Apparently, I never had the cash flow to carry this off. I'm broke, exhausted and can't continue. Main, working jib with jib boom and genoa in fair condition. Another genoa in better condition – sewn for furling but has hanks on it. Schaeffer furling gear included. Six of eight portlights replaced with New Found Metal Tri Matrix ports. Cape Dory mild steel chainplates removed, provision for outboard chainplates begun. One cockpit hatch missing (locker is covered). Deck hardware removed but available. Volvo Penta diesel was only thing seller guaranteed when I bought it. It has been six years on the hard. I've turned the flywheel occasionally to keep piston rings from sitting in one place. Volvo Manuals and other paperwork included. Sets of plans for two different dinghies included. Teak toe rail and rubrail removed but included. Gunwale now has 1” radius that is glassed over. Mast is at sister facility of present marina. Wiring and plumbing torn out. Small amount of water occasionally in bilge when untarped (greatly reduced from previous). I haven't gotten a bill yet, but Summer storage will be paid for. Contact: toddrtownsend [at] gmail [dot com].

Todd,
I have been following your progress for some time.
I am in the fourth year of fixing up a 76 CD28 and I have had experiences similar to those that you have written about in your blog.
I wish you all the best,

Sorry to see you give it up, Todd. I was enjoying your blog, too.
FWIW, I'm three years into a six month refit........

I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means no.
