Porthole size in CD Typhoon Weekender

Post by bretonh »

Hi,

I'm a good distance from my boat and was hoping to order new portholes. Does anyone know the measurements and is there a manufacturer recommended?

Thanks.

We had to replace a port light on KnoTy Boy. The only one that would fit, without cutting a larger hole, or filling in the fiberglass was from Spartan Marine. And, it was the best looking one.

I would try these 4" round bronze port lights on this page

I think ABI went out of business but these are still around. I paid more for them in 1999 when I restored my Typhoon but these should require minimal enlarging of the hole to fit.

I ordered the same ones Paul mentioned from sailboatstuff about 5 years ago. The hole will need to be enlarged. If you can get the inside flanges too, makes for a much nicer appearance. The outside has aged to a nice patina. Spartans would be the best choice but they are quite a bit more expensive.
