Good Day,
Wondering if any CD36 owners can tell me what is backing the cabintop turning block. I would like to remove the bolts for rebedding, but there is no backing plate inside the cabin beneath the headliner. I am assuming the backing plate is attached to the underside of cabintop above the headliner, out of view. If I remove the bolts, will the backing plate remain in position so I can reattach the block after rebedding? Here is a couple of pictures of the block in question...
Thanks for any help on this,
Randy

Re: CD36 Turning Block Question
Hi Randy,
I would think the sealant used originally would hold a backing plate in place with the bolts removed. What is this block/line used for? How much load is on it? A lightly loaded line may be in with just screws. I would try and remove one screw and see what happens. If the screw comes out, there is the answer. If the bolt just turns, you may have to cut 4 access holes or an access panel, inside the boat. When re-installing, you can use plugs to cover a bolt access hole, or a piece of teak to make an access cover.
