Unbelievable

Post by Oswego John »

Pinch me, am I dreaming? The weather guy calls for snow tonight. Lake effect bands will be coming off Lake Ontario tonight. The area north of Syracuse, NY should get more than a foot of snow. The areas surrounding the band will probably get fron 2" to 6".

The territory south of Syracuse should get a few inches of lake effect snow off of Lake Erie. This type of wet, heavy snow is the kind that brings on heart attacks and roofs caving in.

Hmmm. On second thought, the late snow is possible but in my mind, not probable.

We'll see. Time will tell. :?:

I feel your pain, OJ. We had May sniw here in Minneapolis for the first time in many years. It was incredibly depressing. This too shall pass.

Snow?
Begone! I have been to the boat twice in May and both times snow was was coming down or still melting.

This was May 3rd and piles were still there May 12th with heavy frost and little if any spring in sight.

I hope to put in on Thursday this week. Damm the snow, full speed ahead.

....and for around here today, they predict the temp will go up to around 78° to 80° F. Very unstable air. Last week the orchards lost upwards of 60% of the apple crop when frost got to the new buds.

I'm almost afraid to varnish.

It appears OKC and surrounding area are getting hit again as I type!

I can deal with the snow, not sure I could take watch a monster storm charging for a week! although one does get more time to prepare.

Fair Winds and good luck to all with this freaky wx.

it was a bit hairy around here last night and has not stopped raining since. But absolutely NOTHING like the poor folks in Moore, OK. They need your prayers and help. on May 3, 1999 the same thing happened but with a narrower path on the ground! This sucker was HUGE!

Fair Winds

And on another (and lighter) note when did Paul D become the ED of Friends of the Boundary Waters?

Bill:

Glad you are OK in OK.

Up here, it sounds like unstable weather is headed our way over the next two week. A late Spring this is.

As for Paul, well it's been about 4 years or so since he switched over to the Friends of the BWCA. A busy four years at that.
He is so busy that the boat won't go in this year. Not so for me. Priorities!

Got to head north. Mariah goes in the water today at 1PM.
