I just read a very upsetting article on the internet. We, in Baltimore just had another RAW SEWAGE spill into a creek/river and they may have to PUMP more out. At least 10,000 gallons the second in a week. The other was much worse. I think they build the sewage plants along the water ways just for this purpose. But, we the boater can not pump our head into the river or the bay. In some cases we can't even pump treated effluent overboard. Just had to get this off my chest. Spill, Spill, Spill

Re: Raw Sewage
You're right. It's ridiculous. Until most northern cities separate their storm sewers from their sanitary sewers that kind of lunacy will continue. Probably for the next 50 years ( yuck! )
This would be a good target for federal tax surplus dollars, along with alot of other things.

Re: Raw Sewage
You think that's bad! Up here in the Northwest, Victoria BC dumps millions upon millions of untreated sewage into our pristine waters-with no end in site. Some of the stuff isn't even ground up!!
Yet we folks must have holding tanks, or at least class one systems for open waters.
Yummie!!

Re: Raw Sewage
The Providence River is the same way. If that isn't bad enough after a period of strong rain, the untreated sewer makes its way further south into Naragansett Bay disrupting the ecosystem and closing the shellfishing in certain areas for as much as 2-3 weeks at a time. Thanks for nothing Providence!!!!!!!
