Avanti Cruising the Bahamas

Post by 2tocruise »

Hi All,

Andrew and I have been enjoying the Bahamas for three weeks. Avanti, our CD 28 is often the smallest cruising boat in the anchorage. Visit our Blog to follow our adventures while we continue to cruise our way through this beautiful string of islands.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Andrew and I just recently had some guests aboard Avanti. Four people on a Twenty Eight foot boat for a week was a challenge but everyone involved had fun! We wrote a blog post about it and you can read it here: http://sailavanti.blogspot.com/

Keep warm everyone!

Pre-production has begun on our next sailing video! I also added a new page to our blog: Sailing Videos. Now you can find all of our videos in one place instead of hunting through the archives to watch them.

Cheers,
Kelly

Avanti and crew have just returned to the US and are heading north. We posted our Bahamas Cruising Video to the blog. The link is in one of our older posts above. Enjoy!

We suffered an engine failure last week. Because of the notorious Florida currents we were forced to get a tow to a marina. The good news was that it was only the damper-plate that broke and we were able to get a replacement very quickly. The bad news was that because of positioning we were required to pull the engine in order to replace the part. We posted about the experience on our blog along with some pictures and video. http://sailavanti.blogspot.com/

Fortunately we were able to do most of the work ourselves and the repairs seem to have been a success. Thanks again to the crew on CD 28 "Dory" for all of the support!
