Roller furling jib

Post by BahTom »

Looking for a roller furling device for my CD Typhoon weekender. Is there a reasonably priced one on the market, or anyone have plans for making one? My boat is located in Bahamas, so either need to take one down, or make a home built device there.

I've been considering a roller furler for my Weekender as well. Harken 00 is a very good roller furler but is expensive. CDI FF2 would be a very good match and is about $600 on the internet with another $70 if you want the ball bearing version. A sailmaker told me a CDI FF1 could be fitted as well costing about $350 on the internet with another $70 or so if you want the ball bearing version. Fairleads, cleat and line is also available for about $50. The max headstay for the FF1 is 21', just making the Typhoon's headstay of 19' or so. CDI has a good website where you can download an installation manual for either. Hope this helps.
