batteries in V-berth

Post by moctrams »

I saw a post some time ago where a fellow CDr moved a battery bank to the open space beneath the V-berth. I had a local ship’s carpenter do the same for me. While at it, he replaced the two piece plywood cover. The old cover was fabricated in two pieces joined by a small piece of plywood above the holding tank. The new cover is made in three pieces and is stronger than the old design.

Job looks beautifully done. My only concern would be what size wire did you have to run aft? With a run that long I am imagining at least 2/0, and thats not cheap!
