I have been hesitant to post this question because it simply reinforces how really, really dumb I am.
In anticipation of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac last month I removed the mainsheet and boom from S/V Bali Ha'i. To remove the boom I had to remove two (2) large pins that attach the boom to the mast. I carefully placed these two large pins in a Ziploc bag and labeled it "Boom pins" and I know I put them safely away.
I have spent the past 2 days looking everywhere for this Ziploc bag with the "boom pins". I have pretty much taken apart everything on S/V Bali Ha'i in a desperate but ultimately failed attempt to find the Ziploc bag. I have also conducted an exhaustive search of my garage in yet another failed attempt to find the Ziploc bag. I have spent hours quietly sitting in a chair trying to think "where would a dummy put this Ziploc bag with the "boom pins" for safe keeping " Again, abject failure.
So, I go to this board, in the true and certain knowledge that here lies my salvation.
Where can I buy "replacement" pins for the connection between the boom and the mast

Re: Pins to attach boom to mast
You could use the correct size hex head machine screw, a quick release pin, quick release toggle pin, or a clevis pin.Use a cotter ring if necessary.
All should be available at a marine supply/hardware store.
