Teak sealant stain

Post by bpiperno »

Hi all,

I just finished doing the teak of my CD 25D. I used Semco teak sealer.
Despite all my precautions (painters tape, paper etc) I made few stains in the fiberglass.
I called Semco and they say that they have a product called "Dock side cable and fender cleaner" that is supposed to work to clean those stains but they told me it may remove the wax.

The questions are:

1- Are there any other non expensive options?
2- Does anybody have any axperience with this Semco cleaner?
3-If it works and the cleaner removes the wax is it just matter of rewaxing.? What type of wax? Is this something that a non professional can do? How is it done?

Thank you very much for your help

Is your boat even waxed? Since you ask what kind of wax, the answer to that would be whatever you used when you waxed it. If you didnt wax it then dont worry about it. Even if you did wax it, the cleaner removing the wax is not a big deal at all, just rewax the area.
