Re: 1976 Typhoon Daysailer for sale
Hi Jim,
Not meaning to disrespect your listing - She looks to be a beautiful boat. But I am curious about the Daysailer's history... I thought the Daysailer model did not go into production until '77. Are you sure on the year that you have listed?
My Daysailer is a 1979 and is hull #4. Given your hull number, it seems it would be newer.

Re: 1976 Typhoon Daysailer for sale
Matt,
No disrespect taken as you have a very valid question. My hull number is indeed Hull No. 49 and is a 1976 open daysailer. In fact the entire hull ID number is: CPDG0049M76C. Please note that this is the "G" model and not your "K" model. Perhaps this is causing your confusion? Someone more knowledgeable may be able to shed more light on this issue.

Re: 1976 Typhoon Daysailer for sale
Very interesting. I was aware of the two Daysailer models and that yours was a Model G, but given your hull number and year, it clearly means that the years of production for the Daysailer Model G preceeded 1977 by a few years.
I wonder whether the information on the "About Cape Dorys" link (http://www.capedory.org/specs/typhoon.htm) stating "Daysailer Years Built: 1977-1986" was specific to the Model K? Alternately it denotes that the total of 141 includes both the G and K models.
Anyhow, good luck on selling yours and thank you for the info.
[edit] I just noticed on the registry that there are model Gs dating back to '75 so clearly '77-'86 does not apply to both Daysailer models.
Does anyone know if they discontinued the Model G when starting the Model K? It seems that the Model Gs listed in the registry are from '75 to '77.

Here's some more photos I took today. Deck and non-skid are original; never painted and solid like in 1976.
