CD30 vs. CD30 Intrepid

Post by Harry »

Could someone please educate me on the differences between the CD30 and the CD30 Intrepid? I was under the impression that all CD30 were full keel, but was just told by a broker that the CD30 Intrepid is a modified full keel and the rudder is skeg mounted, not keel mounted.

Are there other differences? What time frames were both models manufactured?

I would appreciate assistance on this.

Thanks,

Harry

Harry, There was a good thread on this a couple of months back. Go to the search feature and type in "intrepid", don't put the size or anything and it will bring up the thread for you. The post from Paul on May 8th is a good one. The Intrepid apparently is a fin keel design.

I own an Intrepid 28 1978. Owners manual includes specs and sketch of both the 28 and 9 meter Intrepids. Probably you are looking at the 9 meter. Let me know if you would like some of this information. Perhaps the Cape Dory site would like to include some info on the sister line of Intrepids.
