We went the opposite way and made a bigger Bimini Our dodger is about the same size as yours but our Bimini sits about a foot forward of the boom end. From your photos it appears that your boom could be raised so that it is square with the mast and that would give you the room to increase the Bimini size.
We don't have any problems with the sail clearing the Bimini, but because of the arc when opening the Bimini we need to push the boom aside.
