Add Roller Furler to TY Senior
Anyone with a TY Senior - What roller furler do you use, and how do you like it? I am thinking about a CDI FF2 based on cost, but some sailors I've spoken to don't like the nylon bushing instead of bearings. Also, where can I get specs on how to modify the headstay to accept whatever roller furler I select? Thanks!

You can add the steel bearing when you order it....for about 50-60

Great thanks! Any idea on the dimensions to modify the forestay?

If memory serves me correctly, you shouldn't have to cut the forestay. The CDI slides over the existing wire. You do have to go to an open type turnbuckle as closed body types can unscrew, even with lock nuts. I put one on my wife's CD25 and am satisfied with it. If a boat was going to do extended offshore I would look at Harken, or Profurl, but for weekending or other coastal cruising the CDI system is fine.
