Engine Mount for Typhoon

Post by Hugh Gorman »

I just purchased a 1974 Typhoon which we will be restoring for launch next spring. While the bronze bracket for the engine mount remains affixed to the stern, the motor mount is gone. Does anyone have a motor mount for sale or can provide me with a lead as to where I might find one? Thanks

Hugh, I purchased a 79 a few weeks ago with the same problem. Call Roger at Bristol Bronze. The mount he sent to me was a perfect fit for the part that was installed by the factory. His website is http://bristolbronze.com/.

I have a '77 and the motor mount has a flat blade that sits in the bronze bracket on the stern. I believe I read sometime earlier on this board that the earlier boats had a round fitting so you may want to check this out.

Also, I believe Spartan also sells the motor mount and the company is a continuation of the original manufacturer. They can be found on the interesting links site of this board.
