I am the 2nd owner of Gabbiano. Recently sent some PICS of the upgrades to the original owner. He was very pleased she is in good hands.

We purchased Willow then Moccasin in 1995 and sailed her home from Oxford Maryland to her new home in Michigan. We are the 2nd owner and she will hopefully stay in the family for many years to come. Best wishes to all for a safe, healthy and happy New Year. Paul

I purchased "Frolic", my Cape Dory 27 #96 new in 1978 while working at Cape Dory. Although 33 years of owning the same boat has worked for me, I do not recommend it. As a yacht broker, I suggest that everyone should change boats every 5 years!

Original Owner's Poll/Cost of CD-28 when new

Post by House »

Hello folks and Happy New Year!

It's impossible to know for sure, but from the records we do have, I'm guessing my wife and I are the 6th or 7th owners of our CD-28 (1983, hull #346).

Guy, you had asked about the price of a new 28...the first owners of our boat paid $36,428.00 for her in April, 1983, or almost $82,000 in today's dollars!
