Cape Dory 22 Very Nice

Post by shavdog »

1981 Cape Dory 22...This is a fresh water sailboat meaning no salt corrosion or nasty teak...interior is a 9 out of 10...like new 4000 dollar triad trailer with six bunks..I launch and retrieve from a ramp..nice compliment of new sails including like new aysymetrical spinnaker...removeable mount with 4hp evinrude...Minnesota location...boats in the water..I will help load it...this is one of the very best 22's around..not desperate...serious buyers only...15000..no price negotiation..thankyou...craig...email me for pictures..

Ty vs. CD22

Post by Gary H »

It looks like you are going back to a Ty. I have just purchased a CD22D as a "step up" from a Ty. I have to admit that I have some trepidation about leaving the simple beauty of sailing a Typhoon. I would be interested in hearing your reasons for returning to a Ty from a 22.
Thanks,
Gary

22 vs ty

Post by shavdog »

Gary...actually I might just take a break from sailing...but to answer your question, theres not much similarity between the two..the 22 is much more of a boat...the ty doesnt have a cabin per se....the one thing about the ty that I didnt care for was on a windy day, you got wet....not so much on the 22...the 22 has a real cabin, nice interior with plenty of teak, a sink bunks, cushions, lights a stereo, radio and very liveable for weekends...the ty cabin was mostly for storage with no amenities...my 22 looks like a little cadillac down below...the ty looked like a stripped down geo...just kidding...anyway, its whatever someone sees in a boat thats important and what their budget is...as I look back, I bonded more with the ty than I did with the 22...go figure...

I've just started looking for a new boat and ran across your postings for your CD22. It does look really nice. If you change your mind about selling I'd be interested in driving up to take a look. I'm just outside the Twin Cities.
