Cape Dory 27 for sale

Post by blackwatch »

1976 Cape Dory 27, hull #1. $3000.00 Classic Alberg design. Project boat located in Provincetown, MA. Yanmar 8hp diesel engine in running condition. Sails and rigging in good condition. Hull is solid. Boat has corroded chainplates, a common problem in older Cape dorys, which need to be repaired. Cockpit sole (floor) also needs to be re-built. Other minor repairs also needed. Engine, fuel tank, and most of the interior have been removed to facilitate restoration. All parts included. Change in circumstances forces sale. With some work, this could be a great boat. All inquiries welcome.

Yes 27's have 6 ports. This boat has 8. Its not a CD27. Could it be CD28 hull #1?

I believe this is CD27. hull #1. I looked at this boat a number of years ago when it was stored in town. In fact the yard owner offered it to me for almost nothing to get out from under it. The owner at the time had him do some work and then abandoned it.
It needed quite a lot of work and had numerous major issues. At the time I was completing a restoration on my CD30 and didn't have the time nor inclination to get involved in another 'project'.
Someone from Provincetown bought it, a nice guy whose name escapes me now. He had big plans but as it's ought to happen 'life got in the way' and he put it up for sale over a year ago. I lost track since. I hope it wasn't scrapped. There should be more in the archives if you do a search.
It was unusual in that it had 4 ports on each side and one on the starboard companionway bulkhead.

Thanks for the information. I really like the four portlights.

I crave a Cape Dory, from 27' to 31' but within a teacher's budget!

Still in Provincetown?

Post by scarduner »

I am wondering if this CD 27 is still in Provincetown and looking for someone to take on her refit. I live in Ptown and am looking for a fixer-upper
Thanks
