Ok, so I come in to work this morning thinking about all the things I need to get done today. Check my email, take care of some correspondence, then open Netscape to just check the CD page for anything interesting. That was about 20 minutes ago. I spent those 20 minutes vicariously on the Rendezvous 2000, reading Catherine's excellent adventure write-up. So much for work...I'm heading off for a sail.

Sorry the rendezvous story is so long, but we had a good time and I wanted to share it with everyone -- especially the pictures (more pics to come).

Ok, so I lied, I didn't go off sailing...not yet (race at 4 today). But notice that I did check the CD page again this morning.

Cathy, it's not too long! Write more...(and more photos, too). We wished we could have made it up there for the Rendezvoud, but since we couldn't, reading your narrative was the next best thing.

The rendezvous story was not too long. I love to bury myself in sailing stories. The longer the better. I see by your narration that you experienced the predictable summer Long Island Sound calms. Its enough to drive you to drink. Thats the very reason I switched to sailing the south shore of L.I. You can always depend on a nice seabreeze to come up around 1 PM. Blows 10-20 knots steady. Makes for great sailing although there's not much to see on the south shore. The Sound is sure better for that! Keep on sailin' and keep on writin'

Just wanted to say "thank you" for taking the time to so thoughtfully capture in words what appears to have been a wonderfully successful rendezvous. It had been my hope to attend (by land or sea) but, as is so often the case, circumstances conspired to keep me and our CD25, "Star", away. Your recounting the moments served to make up, partially, for having missed the adventure. Thanks again.
