15th Annual CDSOA, Inc Meeting Update

Post by barfwinkle »

WOW, One Thousand Three Hundred and Eighty Miles and 22 hours drive time later and it was absolutely worth it.

What a great meeting. Fifty three members in attendance and great work by the Central Gulf Fleet. And the deepest gratitude to the Fairhope Yacht Club for hosting us. And to top all that off we had a specular day sail on Mobile Bay. Great Winds, clear blue skies and great Captains.

Thanks to all who made it all possible.

Did you notice that they didn't serve Dark 'N' Stormies?

I'm not really complaining, honest!!! ... The meeting was great and thanks to those who worked hard to make it a great event!

Had a wonderful time

Just to add two cents' worth:

It was a great meeting. The hospitality of our Southern CDSOA brethren (and sisters) lived up to its well-deserved reputation, and I had a chance to connect some of the names from this board with real faces.

Thank you, Central Gulf Fleet, Fairhope Yacht Club and the skippers who supplied the boats we sailed on in Saturday's beautiful weather!

I hope I can get these to work. If they're too much, Cathy, feel free to delete or more them. (I'm just learning how to upload them.)

ON the Downside

Post by barfwinkle »

On the way home just east of Monroe, LA we evidently picked up a bad tank of diesel! We made it home but just barely.

Truck goes to the shop today to dump the bad fuel and scrub the fuel tank and system to include injectors!

Oh well another day in paradise.

All and all however it was a great annual meeting.

However, I wish there was a way to test diesel prior to putting it in the tank! Just spent $1,194.02 to repair damage done by bad diesel fuel! PLUS $117.00 for new fuel! Holy Crap Batman! We should have flew!

Sure, but what the bartender told me was that he didn't have any ginger beer.
