Onancock, VA Sail-In October 22nd

Post by North Branch »

Hi all,

We're looking forward to hosting the 2nd Annual Onancock, VA Sail-In on Saturday, October 22nd. There is plenty of room to anchor in the harbor or you can get a slip at the wharf. Reservation info for Onancock Wharf slips is available at:

http://www.onancock.com/TownofOnancock/townwharf.html

Let us know if you prefer to raft up and gather on board, or eat ashore at one of Onancock's great restaurants. If anyone wants to come and doesn't have time to sail, we have a very nice small hotel and several B&Bs in town about 1/4 mile from Onancock Wharf. Onancock Town information is available at:

http://www.onancock.org/

For those coming from a distance, Tangier Island is a good place to stop if you can't make it to Onancock in one day. Parks Marina has slips and it is about 15 miles or 3 hours from Onancock Wharf.

Also, check out the website about an effort to incorporate Tangier's Elizabethan dialect into Shakespear's plays:

See you October 22nd!

Jim,
I intend to be there because last year's gathering was terrific. If I get the transmission shift cable fixed, I'll be sailing to Onancock. If not, there may be a car trip over the tunnel.

OK Mitchell, either way it will be great to see you. Good luck with the transmission cable. I'm glad I have a tiller!
