I recently purchased a cape dory 27 hull #48. As i am new to sailing and this is my first sail boat I am learning alot, and the boat is very forgiving. Can somebody tell me what the opening in the bulkhead under the sink is intended for. There is a wire basket type thing on the other side in the engine compartment.
My boat has a yanmar YSB8 one banger! The engine runs great but seems
a little underpowered. I was wondering if a three blade prop will help. Not only in accelleration but in top end speed.
cape dory 27 design question?

Re: cape dory 27 design question?
Power can be lost at the exhaust mixing elbow if it is old it plugs up with rust and corosion. This will also cause over heating on a long run and at high RPMs. Just a thoughtjohn tsampas wrote: I recently purchased a cape dory 27 hull #48.
