CD28 Power Flybridge fuel curve
I was wondering if anyone had a fuel curve for a CD Flybridge Cruiser with the 220 hp Volvo TAMD 41A turbodiesel. Just picked up #189 this season, have had it out twice, love it, and want to knowledgeably course plot with estimated range in mind at known RPMs. Thanks.

Re: CD28 Power Flybridge fuel curve
The TAMD 41A is 200HP, not 220 and at cruise you can figure about 10-12 gal. per hr assuming about 3200 rpm,you may be able to keep it under 10 gal,but for planning purposes I assume 10.good luck its a great boat as are all the CD powerboats.Paul Ludwick wrote: I was wondering if anyone had a fuel curve for a CD Flybridge Cruiser with the 220 hp Volvo TAMD 41A turbodiesel. Re: CD28 Power Flybridge fuel curve
I also just recently purchased a 28 FB cruiser and have been unable to find performance/fuel curves. I did bring it 500 miles from NJ to NC at 3000 to 3500 rpm and averaged 6.5 gph. Let me know if you find curves.

Re: CD28 Power Flybridge fuel curve
Thanks for your post, Jack. 6.5 gph sounds great, and given that you realized that at 3000-3500 RPMs, my hope is my consumption might be there or less, since so far I've found what appears to be a comfortable efficient RPM is around 2750-2850.
I've got emails into Volvo and Robinhood Marine (where the owner apparently has gone here in Maine after CD folded) to see if they have a full curve.

Re: CD28 Power Flybridge fuel curve
Thanks for the reply, Jim. Looks like my listing broker's sheet was wrong on the engine HP.
3200 RPM would be a good fast cruise, so 10 gph is not bad. Do you know what is a recommended maximum cruise RPM? I think I heard full throttle is supposed to be 3900, and should yield about 19 kts, but you obviously can't sustain that and treat your engine right.

Re: CD28 Power Flybridge fuel curve
I am sorry I can't help you on your diesel but on my chrysler powered CD28 I installed one of the new Standard Horizon FF41 fuel flow managers this winter. It works as advertised. The fuel flow is right on and I no longer have to guess on the remaining fuel in the tanks. The installation was easy and the price under 200 bucks, is well worth it.Paul Ludwick wrote: I was wondering if anyone had a fuel curve for a CD Flybridge Cruiser with the 220 hp Volvo TAMD 41A turbodiesel. I have a 28' FB Cruiser with a Volvo TAMD 40B , 165 hp and cruise at 2900rpm, 12-13knots and burn 4.5gph. Engine has 1400 hrs on it and has never even burped once in 14 seasons!Paul Ludwick wrote: Thanks for the reply, Jim. Looks like my listing broker's sheet was wrong on the engine HP.
