Oriental NC pumpout

Post by rghinson »

Hi all in Oriental,

My marina, Pecan Grove, does not expect to have holding tank pump out for several weeks. Does anyone know where I can get the holding tank pumped? If so, for what charge?

Thanks,

Deaton Yacht Service

Post by Andy Denmark »

Reid,

My best guess is Deaton Yacht Service (in Whittaker Creek) has a functioning pumpout if anyone does. The pumpout at Sea Harbour Marina (in Pierce Creek) may also be up and running soon. Rates at both places are nominal -- $5.00 or so (guess).

This is yet another item for your pre-hurricane checklist.

Yes, good point, Andy. I had the tank pumped out two days before Irene, closed the inlet water seacock and did not use the head further but somehow now the tank is full. Weird! My only thought is that water must have entered through the holding tank vent at the stern.

I will check out Deaton's.

Hope you are doing well.
