Whisker Pole for Weekender
I'm interested in hearing from those who have used/purchased whisker poles for the Typhoon. Can I make one? Should I get a telescoping one? Who sells them? What's best? I am tired of watching ( and listening to) my useless flopping jib going downwind.

I've been thinking the same thing and usually just lower the jib if I'm doing alot of downwind sailing. I have a track on the front of the mast and have been looking for a slide that will fit it for the pole, haven't found anything yet. This year I did add a boom vang and it has helped alot with boom bounce.

the po of DAERAY used a telescoping Forespar pole. still works well and adds a nice turn of speed even with the 100% flying. doesn't look that substantial but does the trick. has a hook on the end to fit on the spinnaker track pad eye (which mark is looking for i guess) and the other end is more or less a rounded point that fits thru the clew. it will fall out of the clew if the sail is allowed to fly forward of the headstay. pretty easy to set even singlehanded.
Forespar
Look at their website or a place like west marine...they sell a whisker pole for smaller boats...they arent cheap though...i think around 165...i read on the internet where some thrifty sailors somehow adapt a paint roller extension from home depot to somehow work..they cost about 15 bucks...
