We are now looking at a CD28 Open Sport 1987 and are concerned about multiple gelcoat cracks on the topsides and cockpit of the boat. Has anyone had experience with these and repairing them. Of particular concern is a circular one near the diesel fill on the port side. Thanks for any assistance.

Re: Cracks in Topside Gelcoat CD28 Open Sport1987
I own a 1985 Flybridge. It has "spider" cracks it many of the corners as well as some areas on deck. It appears that this is not an uncommon situation with CD's. There is no evidence of problems with leaks etc. Have the surveyor tap it with a mallet and evaluate the substructure. Good luckALarsen wrote: We are now looking at a CD28 Open Sport 1987 and are concerned about multiple gelcoat cracks on the topsides and cockpit of the boat. I have a 33'power and have had many stress gel-cracks they were all repaired by a pro-yard,none were leakers.cause, gelcoat unusually thick, followed by some flexing or temp extremes. not a problem.the circular one is from someone leaning on the fuel filler while fueling.ALarsen wrote: We are now looking at a CD28 Open Sport 1987 and are concerned about multiple gelcoat cracks on the topsides and cockpit of the boat.
