Portlights

Post by Jdpmus »

Has anyone converted their CD25 "aluminum-edged" closed portlights to the opening bronze ones found on later model CD's?

Bronze Replacement Portlights for CD25 #622

Post by jepomer »

I am about to replace the non-opening plastic portlights in our Cape Dory 25 #622. We purchased from New Found Metals (www.newfoundmetals.com/) slightly larger frames than the original ones, but the larger rear portlights are just a little short in length. I will need to fill in the fiberglass about 2 inches of the length.

I had looked for direct replacements (any material), but cold not find any. So we decided to get the bronze ones.
