racing form & other info

Post by Jack & Jo Chamberlain »

Here is a link to the race information on the Rappahannock River Yacht Club web site.

http://new.rryc.org/typhoons.asp

If you click on the "list of competitors" you will get as close to a racing form as is available. Note: the sail numbers are most if not all the hull numbers. FYI #46 is the Typhoon we bought last spring and sold last month. We will be watching and cheering from aboard Maggie Rose along with the Bobers on Starview.

I have too many friends competing to try to pick winners. They are all winners!

Star Raft

Post by barfwinkle »

Good morning

When might we expect to sea a pic of Friday's raft up? And of the event in general?

Pictures from first Nationals?

Post by jhutchison »

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE, to see some pictures from Nationals. Seeing +-30 Typhoons together all at once, must be a beautiful site! I am very much hoping to purchase a Typhoon within the next Month, and would totally consider making the trip from the Upper Bay, down to the Rappahanock, to participate in next years' Nationals. Wonderful that you had such great attendance. Were there boats from areas other than the Chesapeake???

jhutchison,

GO! DO IT! I can't think of a better way to meet a knowledgeable group of Typhoon owners. You could learn ALL the ins and outs and dos and don'ts about Typhoons.

Bill,
I spoke with Ron Mihills, the Typhoon National Champion, last night. There are hundreds of photos that are being examined and prepared for postings. There were many many photographers at the event, and I suspect it will take a bit of time and computer space to get to the best pictures.

Sorry you missed it. It was the best organized boat anything that I have ever attended. I think everyone had a great time.A few Chesapeake Fleet CDSOA members, and our Fleet Captain, were there to offer support and enjoy the festivities, but we couldn't provide any wind.

Be there next year.

2012 Typhoon Nationals

Post by chuck carmichael »

The Rappahannock River Yacht Club has announced that it intends to hold the 2012 Typhoon Nationals on June 10 through 12, 2012. We had 32 Typhoons competing this year. Next year we hope to have 50 Typhoons, and we even hope to have wind. If you missed this years event you certainly do not want to miss the 2012 event. Great hats. Great shirts.
Great dinners and great sunburst cluster.
