I have just purchased a Typhoon. It is number 127.
What year was it made? What great tips can you give me?
Thanks Jock Barker, Dillon, Colorado. Dillon Yacht Club 9260' above sea level.

I HAVE TYPHOON HULL NUMBER 99 AND IT WAS MANUFACTURED IN 1970. YOUR HULL WAS PROBABLY MADE IN 1971 OR 1972. AGE DOESN'T MATTER MUCH THOUGH IF YOUR BOAT WAS WELL MAINTAINED AS WAS MINE. HAPPY SAILING.

Cape Dory Typhoon

I recently purchased a 1976 (?) Typhoon Weekender with an engine bracket, but without an engine. My outfitter is having trouble finding an engine that fits. What type do you have? Thanks ! Mike.

The standard bracket (which runs straight out off the aft deck) requires a long shaft motor. You can also get a lifting bracket which has a parallogram mechanism. The lift bracket mounts on the transom and allows the use of a standard motor, which is raised out of the water when not in use.
Good luck, KBK
