Attention 25D Owners

Post by barfwinkle »

Good morning from the Good Ship Rhapsody

I have to tell you 25D owners something!

<a href="http://s191.photobucket.com/albums/z209 ... CN0407.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z209 ... CN0407.jpg" border="0" alt="Companionway Ladder"></a>

This is without a doubt the best thing I have ever done to improve the comfort level aboard Rhapsody. It's not finished yet and I have to re-do the ladder itself, but what a difference it makes when moving/working around in the galley area.

It is not a difficult task and don't make the same mistake I did, which was thinking that the angle formed by the "steps" and the stainless IS NOT the same as the angle of the "bulkhead" of the engine (that is why I have to re-do the ladder! It works, it just doesn't look right.

Ok here is the re-make. All that is left to do is two small adjustments, disassembling, sanding, finishing and re-assembly.

This is one great improvement.

For anyone that's interested here is the finished product! If you look at other models in the CD line, most of them have this style of companionway ladders. I love it!

BTW I have moved the Nav station from the galley to the location you see in the pic. It really is more functional and does not block use of the galley while in place, nor does it interfere with sleeping/lounging on the settee.

Good moves by the skipper.
