Hardware for bulkhead mounted table

Post by Forrest »

I plan to build a fold down table and mount on the port side bulkhead. Does anyone have the necessary hardware for sale, or leads to where I might buy same. Sparten does not make this particular part.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you studied another installation very carefully, you might be able to make up the hardware with some commonly available parts. It is a stainless tube with a couple of fixed brackets and some that slide. Pillow blocks?

Maybe some alum. and some time at a machine shop. We do not use our table very often but would not want to part with it, Steve.

We have a bulkhead-mounted table. It is attached to a teak cleat via hinges. The teak cleat is thru-bolted to the bulkhead. Use heavy-duty hinges and, if you can, thru-bolt them to the cleat. The legs have spindles (I don't know what else to call them), probably made from dowels that fit into metal cups (don't know what else to call them either) in the cabin sole. But you could use barrel bolts instead. The legs also snap into gizmos attached to the bottom of the table to keep them from unfolding unexpectedly and bopping you in the head.

Built a table using Carl Jones Spanish Eyes table as a template. Used hardware acquired from Jim ( jslowe). Turned out great. Now I just have to copy Cathy's CD Logo on the table.

I agree, Cathy, the logo is spectacular, and adds a real professional touch that I wish I had the skill to duplicate. Good thinking, beautifully executed.

I'm jealous!
