REPLACING INSTALLED SOLAR PANEL ON TYPHOON

I need to replace the solar panel that was on my typhoon when purchased. It is bolted on aft deck of my Cape Dory Typhoon. Has anyone else had same set up - and needed to replace the panel? Have a new solar panel (semi-soft solar panel)) but holes do not line up - so looking at "what" material to mount new one on, then install in same drilled holes as were used for the old one.
